Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing are available From the British Psychological Society on successful completion of recognised training programmes.
Background
The correct and ethical use of psychometric tests requires a thorough understanding of the principles of psychological assessment (psychometrics) and the practical issues related to the implementation, administration and interpretation of the test(s) under consideration. Certificates of Competence at Test Administrator Level, Level A (Abilities / Aptitudes) and Intermediate Level B (Personality) are available through successful completion of recognised training courses.
There are various levels associated with Level B (personality assessment) as follows:
- (a) Level B Intermediate builds upon Level A to cover the requirements for using particular instruments. This is the level held by most practitioners, and will give you access to a wide range of tests and questionnaires.
- (b) Level B Intermediate Plus requires delegates to demonstrate competence in an additional personality instrument.
- (c) Level B Full is aimed at professionals and Chartered Occupational Psychologists who plan to specialise in occupational assessment services.
