This is a SAMPLE Team Building Programme - Programmes are fully flexible depending on needs.
Session 1
Group session (half day / morning): Introduces the programme; Allows first completion of Team Climate Inventory; General overview of Team Working; Good and Bad Factors; Group exercise. Followed by Individual meetings (approx. 30 mins each / afternoon) with each team member. Aim is to gain an initial insight into current group activities, problems, communication, etc.. These discussions also help individuals to begin to focus on the team as a whole.
Session 2
Group Session (full day) to:
- Discuss Session 1 findings and allow elaboration by the team as a whole.
- Carry out Group Exercises.
- Introduce appraisal session; Explore concept of 'Individual Differences'.
- Allow completion of various questionnaires (personality, leadership, lifestyles).
Session 3
Individual sessions (approx. 1 hour per delegate) to 'feedback' questionnaire results. Allows team members to consider their own strengths and weaknesses, and their potential contributions to the management team Individuals are encouraged to share their 'self-knowledge' before session four
Session 4
Group Session (full day): To explain the importance and value of the various team roles; Group Exercise; Begin to explore the team as an integral unit; Highlight individual team roles and explore the combination of strengths within the team; Discussion of how to accommodate any 'weaknesses' within the team; Group Exercise.
Session 5
Group Session (full day): Team Development Theory; Group Exercise (Developing the Vision); Case Study - Group-think; Other roles in Decision Making; Other problems in Groups; Second completion of Team Climate Inventory.
Session 6
Group session (half day): Team Climate re-visited; Exploration of changes in climate since session 1; Discussion of possible further intervention strategies. Followed by 'open' session, Consultant remains available on-site for group / individual 'follow-up' discussions.
Session7
Optional and Additional Group Session: Held several weeks after the main block, aim is to review the activities and progress of the group following the course. Difficulties are explored, achievements are recognised, and the team's future considered.
