The kinds of thing we need to know - and that you need to ask yourself - are:
Why do you want to test? What are you seeking to achieve? For example, is it the selection of a new employee or a development assignment? Is it in order to fill a specific position and, if so, is there a formal Job Description or Person Specification available? (Whilst a formal job description is not essential, it can prove extremely helpful both to you and to us. After all, if you don’t know what you want, how will you know when you’ve found it?). - Can you provide a ‘quick picture’ of the organisation? (It is usually helpful, if we can get a feel for the organisational culture, the reporting structure and any other ‘dynamics’ that may be relevant).
- How many candidates are you shortlisting for assessment? (It is possible to test large numbers of people simultaneously, though as a rough guide one assessor will usually struggle to manage more than eight to ten delegates).
- Can all candidates be available for testing on the same day / at the same time? (For obvious reasons, the cost implications become more significant as the number of assessment days increases).
- Can all candidates be tested together or would you prefer that they are not aware of each other? (Again, there are both cost and logistical implications).
- Is immediate feedback required to candidates? .. to decision makers? (Some tests require markedly more scoring and processing time, so again there are logistical issues for us to consider).
- Where will assessments take place? (Do you have a suitable venue that can be used or will we provide one? Is Online testing a suitable option?)
